I May Have to Concede

Having just purchased a box of haircolor to cover my roots, I look in the mirror and conclude I am fighting a losing battle.

Is there a way to gracefully go gray? Discuss.

In a word: No.

Just kidding. Some people look great gray. I grew up in beauty salons and barber shops...watching my grandparents and mom do hair. I think the best way is to see a stylist that will help you ease into it so that it looks natural while it's happening.

I'm still doing foils, myself. I'm not sure when I'll give in. :-)

I think I can pull off gray hair, and that would be great if my hair was actually all silver and white. However, right now it is still just mainly its base color with increasing numbers of white hairs running through it.

When I was in my first job out of college, I worked with a woman who had gorgeous shoulder-length curly silver-gray hair. She looked amazing. That is what I aspire to, but for now...

...last night I colored it. :-)

I know! I always envy those people that look stunning with the silver going on. I aspire to that. But when? Time will tell I suppose. ;-)

PS George Clooney and Barack Obama are doing the gray thing QUITE well.

Wish we had some female examples... you know, besides Betty White.

I can't keep up with my grey. I conceded years ago and get it colored. For about two weeks, I feel great. Then the silvery greys creep back and I am slapped back to reality. Like I said, though, for two weeks, I feel great.

Embrace your look and enjoy yourself. It's not the hair on the head. It's what inside the head. Let your hair color be of no overpowering concern.

Me: I'm salt and pepper hoping for all salt. I love my hair color!

My mom has lovely grey hair, but did some foils of dark brown (like what little's left of her natch color), and she also looked great.
