I think I've mentioned before that I have a relative who sends me all manner of forwarded e-mail -- sometimes as many as ten at a time. Quite often, she'll send me prayer circle e-mails and stuff with angels in it and homilies about how life is short and you should take time to appreciate it. Oh, and the ubiquitous "I can do nothing without Jesus, through Jesus I can do anything" messages.
Today, she sent me this:
How ALL business phones SHOULD be answered!
GOOD MORNING, WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Press "1" for English.
Press "2" to disconnect until you learn to speak English.
How ghastly and hateful. Somehow I don't think Jesus would approve.

Yup - not very funny at all. I often get forwards en masse from my mother although I try not to encourage it. I don't like the ones that say "God Bless America" with big flags unfurling... I always make a point to send her back a note... God bless everyone -- EVERY SINGLE ONE - No exceptions.
Right on. I generally only respond to the messages she sends that are actually about something, like what she did on her vacation or if she's moving or what have you. I usually delete a lot of the stuff she sends me. But I'm getting to the point where I really do want to tell her (nicely) to stop. We have a kind of delicate relationship so I don't want to offend (although she's already offended me more than once).
